چکیده

Abstract. Bambusa Vulgaris or Bamboo is one of the rapidly growing woody plants among different species and not being utilized properly around world. Hence, utilization bamboo for sustainable resource recovery required to avoid deforestation. This study focused on thermo-chemical treatment waste investigate physico-chemical properties generated products. Experiments were carried out in semi batch, four zone electrically heated, rotary kiln reactor, with reaction time 90 minutes heating rate 25 °C/min, yield optimization. Products analyzed through TGA, XRF, SEM/EDS, GCMS FTIR. From study, it was found that bio-oil obtained treatment, contains high amount alcohols, aldehydes, ketone phenolic compounds. XRF biochar showed 11 % inorganic components, them K Ca be major elements. EDS results good agreement confirmed carbon content. Biochar had calorific value 30.97 MJ/kg, which makes suitable as energy source commercial applications. contained carbonyl (C=O), hydroxyl (HO-), carboxyl (HOOC) groups, are responsible ion exchange reactions during soil amendment. Low ash content along porosity promotes its usage material non-agricultural Additionally, beneficial maximizing storage making process environmentally sustainable.

Evaluation of Advanced Gravity and Magnetic Concentration of a PGM Tailings Waste for Chromite Recovery

This research was aimed at evaluating the efficiency of advanced gravity and magnetic separations on the recovery of chromite from the fine Platinum Group Metals (PGM) tailings consisting of particles 80% passing 75 µm with about 45% being >45 µm resulting in high chromite losses. The PGM plant tailings were subjected to X-ray fluorescence, scanning electron microscopy and particle size dis...

Wound healing effects of Bambusa vulgaris leaves

We read with great interest an article entitled “Preliminary investigation for wound healing and anti-inflammatory effects of Bambusa vulgaris leaves in rat” by Lodhi et al. [1]. The article is thorough and explanatory but we would like to add the following to expand the scope of this experiment for additional benefit in wound healing process. Wound healing is a biological process which occurs ...
